After 18 months we are finally in the final stages of the restoration of our old house in Costa de Lavos. Informally named ‘Casinha Xavega’, referring to the tradition of Xavega net fishing which is a ancient form of ocean fishing still performed from several of the local seaside villages on this part of the central west Portuguese coast.
I have made an initial start on a blog which details more of the story about ‘Casinha Xavega’, ‘Numero 6’ (a self contained one bedroom apartment) and the village of Costa de Lavos. The links are below:
